In response to the popularity of last year's Moonlight Mayhem Fest, Bat Country Booking will once more unleash the night creatures to play by the light of the moon.
Halloween weekend, Prague will host Eastern Europe's only Gothic, Psychobilly, and Horror-punk Fest, Moonlight Mayhem. The two night fest will feature an international line-up showcasing different aspects of "dark/horror" related musical genres. Though these genres are influenced by themes of death, monsters, and things from beyond, they express these influences in different styles and are not often featured on one bill. Moonlight Mayhem seeks to unite these genres and their fans into one weekend of ghoulishly great music, helping major subculture events migrate east.
The fest kicks off Friday Oct 31 with two bands and a Halloween costume party. Splendor (PL) blends visual artistry with sound to give a performance that is both music and theater. They display traditional glam while at the same time revealing modern influences such as Marilyn Manson. The second band of the night will be Slovak Deathrock legends The Last Days of Jesus. This band has been a staple of the Eastern European dark music scene for almost 15 years. Their stage presence and aggressive sound have earned them recognition in the Deathrock, Goth, and Punk scenes. The dance-party will wake the dead with the wickedest tunes to ever haunt a dance floor.
Saturday's line-up will start off with Prague's newest and youngest Psychobilly band, The Rocket Dogz followed by Czech hell-rockers Phantoms on Fire. Scottish monsters Karloff will get the blood flowing then creepy- kitsch, spooky-surf Zombina and the Skeletones (UK) will rattle some bones. Evil Devil (IT) is Psychobilly with substance and style- an aggressive sound and a cross-dressing singer who does a dramatic version of Madonna's "La Isla Bonita". Horror-punk stars Blitzkid (US) return to Prague (previously supporting The Damned in 2007) with their high-energy show and well-crafted songs that have gained them a devoted international following.

Rock´n´roll never sat in clover in former Czechoslovakia. Althouth it might not be the
best expression, because the Bolshevik "thorns" made a real troubles, to the artists,
that wanted to make this music, and the scratches, in form of commercial ignorance,
aren´t healed up to this day.
After all, from time to time, there is a sign of media interest in this music, that
we are trying to keep alive also through the web pages www.rockabilly.cz.
After the movie "Šakali léta" of Petr Šabach and the document "Jeď, Honzo jeď" of Igor
Chaun, there comes the Czech TV with music movie "Rajonove Blues".
Rajonove Blues - tragicomedy of the scenarist K. Čabrádek, director V. Křístka,
cameraman D. Ployhar is situated into the atmoshpere of civil servis in the time
of normalization. The story is full of rock´n´roll (Army Shoes), blues (Rajonove blues),
but also marches - and attention!!! all comes from Slávek Purkrábek, who cooperate
notably on the soundtrack. (Lemon Nashville - http://www.rockabilly.cz/kapely.htm)
His songs are such a master-stroke, that the authors of the movie thought, they´re
remakes of contemporary music, to the last moment. (that is probably also the reason
why you won´t find Slávek Purkrábek´s name in the materials about the movie music).
